(1) it was a very grey-kind of weekend here in paradise. sometimes thats okay, though.
(2) we went on the most exciting excursion to the mall! we really miss living near so many places to shop, and we don’t care who knows it. shopping is kind of america’s best pasttime. eeehhh fine- still second to baseball.
(3) i was a good girl, so gwb treated me to bahama bucks. although, the sprinkles on his also seem to scream TREAT. mine was ice cream flavor- and it had the most perfect hint of banana popsicle flavor (channeling my grandparent’s locked freezer circa 1995).
(4) we made pretzel wrapped hotdogs for football bowl! they were amazing. still are, actually. i made some sauces for em too- dijon/honey/whiskey & ketchup/honey/worchestershire.
(5) we also made ree drummond / the pioneer woman’s restaurant style salsa. it was pretty amazing as well. i halved the recipe and it filled two weck jars. that is about equal to two store-bought salsa jars. so… store bought costs about $4, right? 1/2 can of whole tomatoes is about $2, 1 can of rotel is $0.50, half an onion and a small jalapeno is maybe another $1? and a bunch of cilantro is less than $1. that is about $4.50 for twice as much. and it tastes amazing. and i ate a lot of it. i also split the batch and added more jalapeno and a dash of chipotle tobasco for gwb because he is more manly than i. pretty sure he dug it.
(6) baby girl so sleepy. we got a little chill-front on saturday night, and i just LOVE it. babycat gets all cuddly and sweet.. it literally melts me heart. i swear. i can feel stuff dripping inside my chest (in a good and not creepy way). maybe she just wants us to turn up the heater? i dont think so, though.. i think she much prefers to straddle my side all day long. and so that is what happens.

can we talk about this fog? this weather has got me in a serious funk for real. it was at least cool (in the sixties) a few days this week- but this mid seventies in mid january business has got to stop. do you know that i hate it? do you know that i hate the fog?
ooohhh it is a love-hate relationship really. that is- fog is crazy beautiful (kirsten dunst 4 life). but it is also crazy wet. as in – water. as in – did i ask for a shower when i walked outside? no. rude.
anyways- my moodiness mixed with gwb’s tummie aches have = no cooking this week. unless you count soup? i actually did make some heart shaped sugarcookies yesterday, but i was too lazy to ice them. so.. they are just kind of depressing.
but that is all beside the point really!! i was planning on posting a little project on this baby today. you know- a little pinterest-inspired, diy or die, kinda little thing. hopefully i will get around to it before next friday.

(1) oh how i wanted to jump on this ship friday afternoon. they are so rude- another 2,758 people will rub their vacations in my face in about three hours.
(2) this is my newest prized possession. i haven’t named her yet.. i may not even- she is kind of beyond names. we found her at my favorite store (buffalo hardware) while we were in houston last weekend. she opens cans SO nicely and looks so great while she is at it. i didnt even have to convince gwb to let me buy her! our first unanimous decision since seeing mj/23$ on ebay classifieds? maybe.
(3) knitting. lots of knitting happened this weekend. i cant help it. sometimes it just comes like a tidal wave. i am, of course, all over the place.. but i think i only have like two unfinished projects right now!

(2) gwb & i went to goode co. bbq in houston. the turkey!! AH. the turkey.
(3) still at goode co. their bbq sauce is.. just okay. and maybe dont get the baked beans or coleslaw? JUST THE TURKEY.
